Welcome to Plink

Plink is the ultimate digital toolkit for open mic hosts. By creating a **Room**, you establish a permanent, branded home for your event series. Plink automates sign-ups, enforces your house rules, and gives you real-time control over your stage.

1 Setting Up Your Room

Your Room is your "Brand." Whether you host at one venue or across many, settings here define your defaults.

  • Identity: Set a unique URL (Slug), Title, and Organizer name.
  • Branding: Upload a square **Logo** and a wide **Banner** to make your public page pop.
  • Tech Specs: Use the "Tech Description" to list your stage gear (backline, mics, amps). This helps performers prepare and reduces "gear anxiety."
  • Marketing: Add contact links for WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook so performers can follow your community.

2 Location & Geofencing

Plink can ensure performers are actually present before they can sign up.

  • Fetch Coordinates: Enter your venue address and click "Fetch Coordinates." This maps your room precisely.
  • Geofencing: Enable "Require Location" and set a radius (default 50m). Performers must share their GPS location to book a slot, preventing "sofa sign-ups" from people who aren't at the venue.

3 Mastering Sign-up Modes

Open Registration

The standard model. First-come, first-served. Performs book their own slots via the public page.

Host Controlled

The list is private for booking. Performer see the grid, but only you (the host) can add or move names from your dashboard.

4 Timing Windows & "Hybrid" Mode

Control exactly *when* your list opens. You can set these globally for the room or override them for specific dates.

  • Always Open: Best for smaller events where you want slots filled weeks in advance.
  • Time Restricted: The list opens automatically X hours before the event starts.
  • Hybrid (The Plink Way): This splits your night into two phases:
    • Early Bird: A percentage of slots open early for online booking.
    • Late Arrival: The remaining slots only open when the event starts and strictly require GPS Geofencing (in-person only).

5 The Event Lifecycle

Use the **Event Calendar** to maintain your schedule. Click any date to create a new "Instance."

  • Recurring Events: Use the "Bulk Generator" to populate your calendar for 4, 8, or 12 weeks at a time.
  • Instance Overrides: Every night is different. You can click a scheduled event to change its specific start time, sign-up mode, or geofence rules without affecting your global room settings.
  • Real-time Management: During the event, your dashboard becomes a live console. You can mark performers as "Checked In," "On Stage," or "Finished," and even clear the list for a clean slate.

6 Promotion

Every room has a built-in **QR Code Generator**. Print your QR code and place it at the venue bar or stage. When performers scan it, they are taken directly to your live sign-up grid with the correct date pre-selected.

7 Security

Optional **Access Codes** (4 digits) can be set for your room. If enabled, performers must enter this code before they can book. You can announce the code at the start of the night to ensure only people in the room sign up.
